City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will bring together emerging young leaders with sustainability practitioners to critically examine sustainability paradigms and to present possible solutions to two sustainability cases.  The exercise will demonstrate that students can offer novel perspectives on sustainability questions facing societies today.

Challenges

Cooling Asian populations

in a warming world while reducing carbon emissions

Given the need to encourage cross-sectoral partnerships, two organizations will jointly serve as implementing agencies for each of these challenges, meaning they will:

  • Provide feedback to students

  • Host the final round of presentations

  • Seriously entertain student proposals

  • Disseminate some of the ideas in question together with students from the top teams

We are delighted that two not-for profits, the Hong Kong Green Building Council and Ocean Recovery Alliance, will be joined as implementing agencies by a top global retail brand with a large Asian presence, PepsiCo, and one of Asia’s most highly regarded sustainable architecture firms, Ronald Lu & Partners.
